I had a tricky #meshtastic repair recently, replacing the #IPEX connector on a #heltec V3. Only took two new connectors to get it right! Also had the added fun of pulling the old IPEX connector from to IPEX plug which was considerably more difficult...

The Worst Car Hire Service
When David Schwartz left university in 1972, he set up Rent-a-wreck
as a joke. Being a natural prankster, he acquired a fleet of beat-up
shabby, wreckages waiting for the scrap heap in California.
He put on a cap and looked forward to watching people's faces as he
conducted them round the choice of bumperless, dented junkmobiles.
To his lasting surprise there was an insatiable demand for them and
he now has 26 thriving branches all over America. "People like driving
round in the worst cars available," he said. Of course they do.
"If a driver damages the side of a car and is honest enough to
admit it, I tell him, `Forget it'. If they bring a car back late we
overlook it. If they've had a crash and it doesn't involve another vehicle
we might overlook that too."
"Where's the ashtray?" asked one Los Angeles wife, as she settled
into the ripped interior. "Honey," said her husband, "the whole car's the
ash tray."

The good thing is I can run a #VM in #Unraid so even when I'm not using a #Linux machine, I still have a Linux machine 😎 #selfhosting
My last two #distros have been Arch-based (one bring literally Arch, currently Endeavour), but I'm strongly considering hopping back to #LinuxMint. By far my most solid and stable #Linux experience. I will miss the #AUR though....
But not when the antenna connection on the #Meshtastic #Heltec V3 breaks so goddamn easily. More connectors on the way for more tiny #soldering projects

The more I see what is happening to the world, the more I want to build out my own network through #selfhosting. Host my own websites, my own tools, and open them up to a small subset of friends that I know and trust.

Catch me in the next few years running my own protocol through #Meshtastic nodes ✌️
