Which stage of bubble popping are we currently in, that Microsoft feels the need to make em dash easily typeable to give AI slop enthusiasts plausible deniability?

The on-device LLM model bundled in iOS 18.1 Beta 1 seems to have a data cut-off date some time in 2023, however, for some categories of questions it answers with 2022 or even 2021 data points.

Answering questions is, of course, not what the model was designed for. It’s supposed to rewrite your emails and messages. But, with a special prompt, you can turn it into a very primitive chat bot 🙂

If you’re fully in Apple ecosystem, you can use #Authy iPad app on your desktop computer. It works great.
CF is amassing a lot of power. With 30% of all Internet Traffic going through CF and them decrypting all HTTPS traffic at the Edge...and able to change any or all of it transparently. This extract from CF's blog reads like a Government/Thread Actor's dream come true....
What could go wrong

@atpfm Some time back John mentioned how LLM-based Siri could work very well for HomeKit control due to a very limited and well defined scope. There is now a working demo for HomeAssistant: https://twitter.com/ggerganov/status/1698388717721759845?s=61&t=71PsfoIrbsLOAcAal5Gdiw Maybe one day the world’s biggest tech company will be able to replicate this.

The USB camera support in iPadOS 17 is pretty sweet. The USB-C thermal camera I got works well, although currently only in FaceTime. Hopefully 3rd party camera apps add support at some point (wouldn’t hold my breath for Camera.app)

What really pisses me off about BlueSky is that the rules don't seem to apply to them. Where's all the cohesion that normally makes it infeasible for people to switch off of their current social platforms? Where's all the criticism and hate Mastodon got, where are all the people promising they will "never switch to it, no matter what"? And just what the fuck is wrong with you that you'd trust a for-profit entity ever again?!
