The fact that cars per capita is growing and not shrinking is a massive policy failure in Australia.

It's financially unsustainable and shows a clear lack of investment in active and public transport. It also show you that we're mostly allowing population growth only in car orientated areas.

Cars per capita in inner city Melbourne is dropping a lot but this is being balanced by huge suburban developments.
