Content is corporate.

Don't be corporate.

The only way left to combat the algorithms is being aggressively human.

@annaleen I used to burn the candle at both ends, now I dream of a time when I could eat all the mini eggs... ;)

@briannawu I've been thinking recently that maybe smaller communities are the answer?

I think the more people you put into a room the more likely it's going to be unpleasant, like people are just not wired to get along at global scales.

Putting the LGBTQ+ meetup in the same room as the white supremacist meetup was never going to produce a good result?

Mastodon has been a breath of fresh air for me not having to see so many hateful posts in every conversation.

@annaleen digestive, jaffa cake, hob nob?

Involving myself in the sweat and infarction inducing horror of British Airways’ horrifically terrible mobile app has made we wonder why there is no equivalent of the #razzies for apps? My suggestion would be for an annual #Crappies Awards ceremony. Worst design. Worst UX. Greediest In-App Purchase Demands. Most Endless Ad-Loop (I’m looking at you, CandyCrush) Most Pointless Function. I’m sure between us, Mastopeeps, we can think of 10 or 15 categories.

Latest comic: You can't deny people both a living wage and public programs to compensate for a lack of the former. Of course people are going to end up on the streets!

@NanoRaptor I bought a USB 3.5" floppy drive this year just so I could finally archive what floppies I still had. Now I just need to get a zip drive 😁
@will I gave up with hardware transcoding because it was too much hassle to maintain. I bought some Chromecast with Google TV devices as clients because they natively support pretty much all formats including 4K HDR, so I didn't need transcoding anymore. Not a solution for everyone, but it works for me.
Boxing Day in Dunbar.
