I also have a thing for craft beer, and did so before it was quite as trendy as today.

I live in Meanjin/Brisbane QLD Australia - in Bardon 4065 - on the land of the Turrbul and Jagera people. I'm British and moved here almost seven years ago.

“Riding” “Electorate” “Constituency” “Congressional district”

The same thing, in countries that speak the same language, but all have different words. I like Canada’s “riding”, though “electorate” in Aussie English means something different to “electorate” in British English which is weird

I may be on BBC Radio 4’s PM programme this afternoon, talking about the importance of having a battery operated radio in case of emergency.

I’ve avoided them so far, but Dutton is currently doing a presser live on the ABC, on a TV I can’t turn off.

“Why did you put OneNation second on your preferential votes?”
“The best way to vote is to put us as number one.”
“But why did you put OneNation second on your preferential votes?”
“I’ve answered that question.”

Does he think the journos are stupid? Or the voters?

Just spent 7 hours experiencing life sans electricity here in Spain - we're totally fine, but wow the world does not function in very basic ways, and if you don't own a radio you really have zero information or ability to communicate.

CBC just called the Canadian election for the Liberals. So that's nice.

(If you're #auspol what they really mean is the good people, rather than the conservatives, who are the equivalent of the nasty, racist liberals we have here, who you will not be voting for on Saturday because you're a good person).

How you know a public service broadcaster isn't doing a good job: they geoblock the results broadcast for their own country elections.

Oooh, not seen this before - live flight information in @kagihq (on the right hand side). Very nice.

I’ve got my #freshrss installation automatically updating its feeds now, so that’s nice.

Amazon Linux AL2023 doesn’t include cron, preferring to use systemctl timers. So I’ve added how to achieve this in my blog post here, which is really for me when I come to reinstall this box in years to come, but in case it’s useful to someone else..
