If we are trying to influence people, rather than just to let of steam, this is a very interesting read.

Feel like it can apply to our online posts as much as government rhetoric:

Scientist Rebellion urges public to become climate activists (via @wolfgangcramer )

I've been a climate activist -- not a particularly good one -- since the 1990s. The general idea from this: what the hell is wrong with people. The problem is not that people keep using fossil fuels within a built fossil fuel infrastructure: that is an individualist distraction put out by oil companies. The problem is that they don't rise up and overthrow the worst ruling class in all of history, the only ruling class engaged in destroying the Earth's carrying capacity.

I organize my thoughts around this kind of thing through poetry. Here's two of them. The first has years in which I did different activist things, and has a general conclusion at the end. The second is pretty much where I am today.

Shame on @guardian for this article.

They make it sound like this is a fault with the NHS. It isn't. This is the fault of the government underfunding the NHS.

This is obvious and the misleading presentation here feels deliberate.

Sad day for Netherlands and Europe.

Genuine sympathy to all Dutch people, even to those fooled into voting for this nazi.

Even if he doesn't get in, your politics are polluted now and they will get a lot more dirty before you will get them looking clean again.

Good luck and fight back hard.

If you're a straight white dude with tons of privilege that's asked to be on podcasts and speak at conferences, why don't you try “Recommending Somebody Else” today! It's totally free, and it doesn't mean you don't still get to do it too!

A lot of people ask me about how to identify disinformation and what to do about it — both of which are important questions — but I think the real challenge we’re facing now is: How do we identify truth?

There is no single answer, but I believe the best place to start is to look for the nuance and complexity; this is where truth lives. (Hence why propaganda and disinformation seek to degrade and destroy the very notion of nuance.)
