I've been kinda negative about Cohost in the past, but I do gotta say my "cool blogs I like" RSS feed is WAY quieter now since the Cohost blogs I followed via RSS can't post.
I've followed the same folks' personal blogs where I could find them, but it's still quieter.
I LOVE the idea of hand publishing personal sites and blogs/RSS feeds, but there IS something to be said for a platform that makes publishing easier/reduces the friction of it.
If you're looking for a way to donate to Appalachian disaster relief after Helene, check out the Highlander Center facebook page. I trust their vetting of organizations and they are based in Appalachia themselves. I also like that they share links from orgs outside NC, since there is catastrophic damage across state lines.
