@mjg59 haven't they already declared bankruptcy? I get the feeling they think that there's nothing more that can be done to them, and are likely to be proved very wrong.

@BenjaminHCCarr maybe calling llms and their ilk 'ai' is part of the problem. Because of that label, people believe that they think, and compare them to ai characters portrayed in stories. The use of such terminology causes the llm to reproduce tokens related to 'ai' from their learning corpus stolen from hundreds of sci fi stories.
Of popular fiction had their ai characters commonly playing hopscothc, that action is what they would be outputting.

@anon_opin Their vocabulary is actually massive. The number of widely different terms for slight variations on pose, stance, jumps and tricks is astounding to a lay person.
Either that or the commentators are just great at making up words on the spot.

@jerry marketing. We all know that an llm is not an intelligence, but the marketing drives were able to convince people that ai exists.

@TheBreadmonkey I don't have time for that right now, maybe I'll give it a go tomorrow. People also say good things about not procrastinating.

@jack_daniel I don't believe for a second that sky TV in the UK are the only broadcaster that does this, but it does amuse my (easily amused) mind..
