It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we will be ceasing all missions. We plan to funnel $240 million in outstanding government subsidies to groups dedicated to sustainable agriculture and ending World Hunger. We cannot look to other planets to solve our problems here.

And, while we're here, for #FlashFicFriday ... this is as close as I get?

1000-ish words of what happens if I put 'The Wasteland' and the death of Caesar in a space opera blender, reprinted in the first issue of The Deadlands last year.

For my part, I've always seen them as something at the discretion of the author. As the reader, you have a plethora of tools to disengage from unwanted content on Mastodon—with even better filters coming in 4.0—and harassment is not one of them. People who are arriving now have as much right to be here and bring their own culture as the ones who came before them.

Came across the phrase "worth their salt" while editing, which led me to look up the etymology of the word. Fun fact: it originated from salt money – a wage paid to Ancient Roman soldiers to buy salt, an essential and valuable commodity.

This led me to think of how spilled salt holds different meanings in different cultures. Some see it as a bad omen, some as a ritualistic rite.

Aaand now I have worldbuilding idea where you need to be worth the salt for your pyre or grave. Hmm.

Win or lose. It’s his way out. ‘❤️’ this tweet for reminders about John Wick: Chapter 4 - only in theaters & IMAX March 24.
