If there is one industry that I've noticed tends to have the most lazy/careless workers in it, it's truck driving.
Every day I come across drivers that don't appear to have much common sense, are lazy or just carelessly incompetent.
If you want your work to be valued, show that you care about it.
Author-vloggers Hank and John Green are turning their educational media company Complexly into a nonprofit. The multihyphenate brothers garner millions of views on popular shows such as Crash Course that explain common classroom subjects in engaging ways. The change is intended to ensure viewers have access to engaging, fact-based content that can compete free of advertisersā interests in the attention economy. And the move comes as John says, āthere's never been more information and yet there's never been less information that you feel you can trust.ā He hopes that making Complexly a āpublic goodā will help the production studio make more trustworthy content.
So between Stake and now Moonpay being naming sponsors, the #XGames rebrand led by Jeremy Bloom appears to really be targeting the more edge non-traditional sponsors.
I feel the optimism in growing the events again and its good seeing big crowds, just maybe not the biggest fan of where the money comes from š

Business Insider reports that Oura is planning to expand its Oura wearable rings beyond health tracking to allow for payments, authentication, and more.
Well, Capitan Buzzkill (me) here wrote about Oura's security and privacy practices earlier this year, and found:
ā¢ Oura rings *don't* end-to-end encrypt users' health data;
ā¢ As such, Oura *can* access its users' data;
ā¢ Oura told me that the company *has* received U.S. government demands for users' data.
The company won't say how many people were impacted. Transparency matters, especially when people's safety is on the line. Impacted users have been notified, so check your inbox.
I see so many people (mostly men, this isn't random) talking about how Meta's Ray-Ban glasses are "incredible" or "still not ready" yet, I don't see anyone calling it what it is: Voyeurism.
This technology will increase voyeurism and stalking aggressions in unacceptable ways. These glasses are a voyeur's dream weapon. Also a doxxer's and stalker's dream weapon.
Why are our laws and cultures not protecting us against this?

Vance compared the dustup to past violent comments by a Democratic candidate In Virginia, arguing that Jay Jones' remarks concerning political violence were worse. Other Republicans, like Vermont's Gov. Phil Scott, are demanding resignations, calling the comments "unacceptable." Democrats, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, have urged investigations, condemning the messages as discriminatory.
