It’s very likely I’ll ignore DMs/private mentions unless we have an existing relationship. Talk to me in public!

I released an update to Keyhole today — my little app for taking control of your Mac's media keys — that can optionally force Music's repeat setting back on if you're annoyed about it randomly being turned off. Like I am. ALL THE TIME.

Anyway, check out Keyhole!

Daniel Kennett - Keyhole

Take control of your Mac's media keys!

Work on something else for 4 hours. No music.

Alright, I'm safe.

Pick up guitar.

Music starts again.

It's enough to give me a complex.

I will not use my tax refund to buy a new guitar.
I will not use my tax refund to buy a new guitar.
I will not use my tax refund to buy a new guitar.
I will not use my tax refund to buy a new guitar.
I will not use my tax refund to buy a new guitar.
I will not use my tax… oooo Surf Green
…obviously this kind of feature requires a counter stat!

…once again proving the opening sentence of the blog post I wrote about Keyhole:

"One of the benefits of being a developer is being able to go “F**k it, I’ll just fix it myself!” when your computer is being annoying."

Today I shall mostly be rage-implementing a new feature in Keyhole (my open source app for taking control of media keys).

Look, I'm not saying the universe is out to get me *specifically*, but just as I got settled in to practice guitar, the neighbour started playing super loud music in their garden right by our house.

15 minutes later I give up and decide to go out, and in the time it took me to put my shoes on and open the garage door, it stopped.

🤔

I sure did pick a great time to do a cross-Europe roadtrip!
I actually ended a sales call with Stripe early a few weeks ago because the rep started Googling the product I was asking about (which granted, was new). Sigh.

I think it might make me a bit of an asshole but I get very grumpy *very* quickly if I contact a company and I get a reply back that makes it clear the person at the other end just flat out didn't read or understand my question.
