@dmd 😂
@dmd I did joke that my next PIN would be 1234!

This is now resolved so I can post about it publicly: I opened a new bank account recently and the card they sent had the PIN 0001.

This was funny until I found out out that this particular product from this particular bank does't allow card PIN changes at *all*, so I had to order a replacement card and wait another week 🙄.

I appreciate this is just as random as any other number, but still — I'm 1000% not activating a card with a PIN of "1".

To whoever bought my laptop in 2021 and never changed the contact details on its AppleCare even though I told you "Please change the contact details on the AppleCare", your laptop is now ready to be collected from its repair.
Also probably relevant: The project is around 50/50 Swift and Objective-C. As you'd expect, the Swift is by far the largest portion of the build time, but big parts of *that* are bound to a single core for whatever reason.
And for the "But indexing!!!" crowd, I let the M5 Air sit with power connected for a few hours until all the background processes finished doing their thing. It isn't a meaningful factor here.

My M5 MacBook Air arrived today, and I collected together all the computers I have access to and ran some benchmarks with an Xcode project of ours that's long enough to bring out thermal constraints. Ran two clean builds back-to-back, and these are the results from the second build (which were universally faster than the first).

It's weird that the Mac mini couldn't beat the M4 Air, but it *is* on Sequoia and everything else is Tahoe. Everything is running Xcode 26.2.

@kangaroo5383 @jripley As someone who grew up in the UK and now lives elsewhere in Europe, a 30k limit sounds terrifyingly high.
@diogot My car has some pretty bonkers CFD in its design - when it’s just a bit dirty you can see how the air flows around the car’s curves and stuff, it’s pretty cool.

Great! My new windscreen wiper blades are available for pickup!

Wipers *for* my car will fit *in* my car, right?

(Yes yes, it needs a wash. That's about 30 minutes driving's worth of dirt at this time of year.)
