iOS developer, recovering boss.
In my experience, DTS mostly rules. Sometimes they kick me back to Radar if it a a bug but I’ve had them directly act as ambassadors to specific engineering teams on complicated issues.
I’m sort of fascinated to see how few of my fellow devs use their TSIs. Those things are gold which is especially more perplexing when I hear how frustrated devs are with specific issues they hit. Use your incidents - that’s what they’re for.
So what’s the story where you expand a post that Ivory shows has a bunch of replies but it just spins and then nothing?
Doing some updates on an iPad app from 2011-ish. The amount of code I’m deleting and replacing with 5% of the SwiftUI… pretty awesome.
Submitted a DTS incident for iCloud sharing stuff - figured I was just doing it wrong but DTS kicked it back, basically saying they can’t help. Bummer.
That thing where Mail.app now shows a link preview when you paste a URL - is there some defaults command that disables this?
We’re up to Xcode 14 and you still have to edit the Info.plist to remove an exported type?
I’ve seen a bunch of smart developers posting Swift concurrency questions lately, not being sure about what’s going to fire when. Clearly still not well known community-wide how it all works.
Apple just what the fuck? You send me rejection with screenshots from the app. I don't get it. OMG. This is insane!!!!!
Watching Looper again. Great film. But was making JGL look weird/more Willis-y really needed?
