To be clear, Texas is the kicker. It’s a 50/50 crapshoot on, when we get these reactions, whether it’s when they find out we’re from the USA or when they find out we’re from Texas.
In every country we’ve been to, as soon as a local finds out we’re from Texas, they either ask us whether or not everyone has guns or they make the “pew pew” sound while shooting off the imaginary finger gun. Nobody exclaims “oh, COVID vaccine!” or “oh, Internet!” I didn’t contribute to any of the three, but it’s quite the indictment of our culture that people in other countries basically think that the average American is a gun-toting, hip-shooting idiot.
#Science isn’t “facts.” It isn’t “truth.”
It’s a dynamic process in which we’re always testing hypotheses & learning more about our world.
