Dear @creativecommons ,

I read your article about your initiative for new licenses for dataset holders in the AI industry.

Let’s be clear: I do not want to re-license my hundreds of CC-By comic pages to please AI giants.

I wish you would support CC artists suffering from massive plagiarism. You should enforce your own existing licenses against AI mass crawling. It seems you’ve joined the battle only after the casualties and still managed to side with the wrong people.

Over 90% #Python packages in #Fedora were built successfully with Python 3.14.

The biggest blocker for the rest seems to be pydantic.

So after we switched to #Python 3.14 in #Fedora Rawhide, the compose is blocked by https://github.com/osbuild/osbuild/issues/2109 thus likely no Python 3.14 as python3 in the repositories yet.

Looks like a breaking change in configparser with no depreciation period, no mention in What's New, non-actionable exception, and no much recent discussion either 😞 https://github.com/python/cpython/issues/65697#issuecomment-2964520637

Doing this during the #FlockToFedora conference and with Miro's indisposition has certainly been a new level of the challenge.

Looking at the laptop screen at night with no surrounding ambient light is uncomfortable.

I struggled with the 2 low settings of brightness: a blank display (0%) or lasers into my eyes (10%).

`brightnessctl set 1%` is good.

Now I've figured out that #Xfce can change the number of steps (from the default 10). Moreover, it supports exponential steps (more natural for the human eye).

With 27 exponential steps, the first 10 options are "almost 0%". Perfection!

@hroncok wait, what? the screens and/or UI controls don't do exponential brightness?!?!?
@mdione Not by default. At least not on Xfce. It was 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100%.
@hroncok this is why we dark mode!
@adamw @hroncok Dark mode is still a bit hit or miss on desktop systems, though (web pages in particular are prone to "Oh, you wanted *all* the panels to be dark? Too bad, we're making the background for this one bright white, no matter what the system says").
