ok so you know how sometimes fantasy villains will use a magic portal to show you an image of themselves so they can taunt you from faraway like "mwahahaha! i have your princess and you'll never stop me!"

what if those magic portals transmitted not just light but the full electromagnetic spectrum so you could pull out your phone and look at the GPS signals coming through the portal and instantly geolocate the villain

psa: don't do category theory, kids, or you'll end up like my friend who just told me "i feel weird about the concept of addition and multiplication being different"
Idea: time travel story which detects once you've scrolled down far enough to the point where a character retcons their past, and then uses javascript to changes the parts of the story you already read
its a bit tart. very strong flavor. maybe the minced garlic i put in it got a bit oversalted, or maybe 12 minutes wasnt enough to fully cook the garlic? either way, i declare it Not Bad

i was making some bread when i realized

i have garlic

i can make GARLIC BREAD

For those wondering whether #Ingenuity can walk and chew gum, er, I mean rotate while flying and take pictures, yes it can:

Blue markers are locations from where the #marshelicopter captured RTE images; blue lines point to the projected center of each RTE image on the ground.

reply to this with your favorite #mechanism! mine is the jansen linkage, which looks like something out of a crazy #scifi or #fantasy world where everything is wooden and clacky and analog and i love it

#robotics

then i stared at a beetroot for 15 minutes deciding whether or not to buy one
today i visited a big park near me for the first time and it was so big! there were like five playgrounds! there was a ruin there with arches upon arches! a slightly squishy ground path you can run on which goes under a bridge! lots of flowers! good park would park again
@hillexed I am unfortunately not an engineer, so I'm not sure of the details but I know that the wiring is complicated! MIRI & NIRCam are now part of the Integrated Science Instrument Module (ISIM) that sits behind the primary mirror & wires connect the ISIM to other systems like power. Some of those systems are on the warm side of the telescope, so the wires need to be able to take hot and cold temps and the wire materials are CAREFULLY selected to withstand the extremes! #JWST
