Weekend not kind on time given social life aspects to attend to ( gasp! );
Getting Nineveh out of the table after a few weeks worth of playing - truly magnificent game, will be hard to beat for best 2023 for me
- and Skies above Britain back on. Time for campaign.

I am horrified and in awe with the Nineveh wargame from Nuts and playing quite a lot since I got it.

Last play face to face I go D*esh and go for collateral damage objective. This is exactly what it means and relies on three things;
- forcing combat in urban areas
- deployment of explosive traps all the way
- and abhorrent martyrdom of own forces

I won but it isn't glee satisfaction of victory that comes but rather a grim realization of what is represented in the game.

Coffee Break 21/2023

Undeniably that WW2, Napoleonics and ACW are the top dogs in the business ( yes it is a business, don’t let the influencers fool you ).

Can almost smell the gunpowder after a debate of what is and what isn't...

More examples at high level would be the methods of assembly for armies - given most played games tend to be strategic/operational.

Taking again on the Persian and Macedonia the asymmetry is very high, even if the result is an army piece placed on the board.
The elements needed to combine to make that army be possible makes all the shining difference for a design.
