War am Sonntag im Wiener Leopoldmuseum, in dem zahlreiche Gemälde leicht schief an der Wand hingen. Im keilförmigen Spalt, der durch das Kippen entstand, war Platz für den Schriftzug „A few degrees more°“. Abgestimmt auf die Motive stand auf kleinen Texttafeln, welche Folgen ein Temperaturanstieg von 2, 3, 4 oder 5 Grad für die gezeigten Landschaften haben wird und wie in den kommenden Jahren gegengesteuert werden kann.

Sorry, ich habe leider gestern in der Diskussion in der Schaubühne eine falsche Jahreszahl genannt: Das Klimaziel der Kohl-Regierung wurde schon 1991 beschlossen, nicht erst 1995. Korrekt ist meine Aussage, dass es nicht eingehalten wurde.

One of many things that’s struck me in my 18 years in various admin and faculty service roles is that technical writing is essential in academia — writing assignments prompts, department policies, open letters of protest + calls for reform — yet it’s so often dismissed as remedial in academics’ own training. Lots of faculty struggle to write clear, concise, bullet-pointed functional docs.

Not included in the 1974 Nobel prize for the discovery, Bell received a £3m prize for her work in 2018. She's using it to set up a foundation to improve diversity in STEM.
