Got a nice Christmas gift.
I’m still playing weekly in two D&D campaigns with friends, one of which is #dnd5e and one of which is #osr 1st edition. Both wildly fun in different ways. Last night involved gifting (the) Dragon Magazine #12 to my old school DM, here. Yay, #ttrpg, yay holiday #dnd.

InstagramA couple of weeks ago, I once again deleted the FB and Twitter apps from my phone (…still struggling to let go of IG, which I am starting to hate because of ‘reel’ time-wasting). Checking Twitter on a PC, aside from all the chaos there, I was shocked at how it made me feel. Everything - whether I liked/supported it or not - elicited some kind of excitement/anger…just a spike that in retrospect felt toxic and exhausting. I know, I know. Designed to elicit that response. Anger equals engagement.

The Intercept#WakandaForever was incredible. Graceful in working around the tragedy. Dealing with fractures in the wake of a visionary. All Shuri’s conflicting emotions radiating from the screen. Namor’s righteous anger. A fitting tribute to the King.
I find myself cringing when I use Tumblr now due to the dreadful burnished (?) logo, opening it through clenched teeth.
This afternoon, a friend who grew up playing soccer quoted one of his coaches as saying, “Strikers love to win; goalies hate to lose,” and it instantly says so much about players and roles in games of all sorts.
