I think journalists still don’t understand that they add value to #twitter by posting content on it, that’s the only power of Twitter. Elon bought a social medium to literally own the libs, and it’s the libs’ fault that they put all their eggs in HIS basket. It’s time for respected news sources, respected personalities and respected businesses, to leave this conquered feudal territory.

One thing that's getting a little lost in this mix, is that some of the people desperately holding on at Twitter are because they are trapped by either healthcare or visas.
That there are systemic traps that trap workers in America so they feel unable to move freely to new employers who want them and would have better pay or conditions is *nuts* and deserves a lot more attention than it gets.
After the death of RSS, legacy media became even more dependent on Twitter.
They didn't just use it to distribute the news, they used it to *find* news.
It got to the point that in many media companies, your social status as a journalist was measured by how good you were at Twitter.
You got to understand that, for legacy media, Twitter *became* the Internet. And because of that, the Blue Check badge became ever more desirable.
In recent years, we became too comfortable letting #Twitter define journalism & media. Algorithms often dictated the narratives we collectively paid attention to.
Absurd trends were covered by news outlets & ballooned into major stories while we missed so much real substance. And the quick takes of uninformed politicians & bad actors were forced upon anyone participating in the network.
It was bad for democracy. The #Mastodon model makes me hopeful we can do better. #twittermigration
