I wonder how much money the grocery store by me saves by putting all the sale coupons into their app and then simply making the app Not Work
You learn so much when you travel, for example that when you lose your passport abroad the one they give you at the consulate looks like what grimace uses to get back into mcdonaldland

1 weird trick to get your art into a museum
This is at the redpath museum at mcgill university which i highly recommend to fans of weird dusty little museums full of idiosyncratic labels and obsolete dioramas
@hannah oh yeah. this is the good shit
@hannah I love the snaggle-toothed fox!
@hannah oh OF COURSE it is. Just when I thought i couldn't possibly adore that museum more than I already do...
@hannah that fox is high as a kite

@hannah the clam poem really does it for me. I want to visit that place immediately. And the fox… that’s some terrible taxidermy… and the dinosaur diorama?! What is up with the gleaming plastic and weird bright colours?

Tell me, who is the mastermind behind that collection?

@hannah this is actually so wholesome
@hannah they knew the museum people liked art so they left them some more as a lil gift

@hannah Someone also kept putting up a little placard next to a fire extinguisher in a museum stairwell, causing people to stop and study it, and the museum kept taking it down.

Then the museum realized it was selling postcards of a photo of the fire extinguisher with the placard in their gift shop, smuggled in and printed with an existing postcard UPC.

The artist sued for their $10 in royalties. Everyone was very amused and/or pissed off.

edit: its Dove Bradshaw, see reply/thread

@unlofl @hannah

Georgetown U. opened a new student center/office tower/conference center/hotel. On the plans there was a space designated as a student art gallery. Yet no one was hired to curate such a space and there was no budget for creating displays, etc. They stuck in stuff like a foosball table and a pool table.

Two students make parody placards and hung them in the gallery. I can't recall all that they said, but of the pool table's green felt, they said "we are invited to bathe in its opulence."

@hannah Well since everyone likes this... I was wrong about part of the story, but the artist is Dove Bradshaw, this all went down in 1976 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York

The little placard is excellent, adding the postcards is total genius!

@hannah This is how I got a work into Kattenkabinet, I just left a cat-themed sketch somewhere, I doubt it's still around but it might still be in there.

@hannah

Where is this museum?

@hannah i know opinions are split on Banksy. One of my favorite stunts of theirs was going into a museum with art and a written description, and super glue, sticking it onto the wall, and sitting back as it stayed up for weeks before any of the museum staff noticed.
@PetrichorSquirrel i think his visual art can be a little eyeroll but i like his pranks
@hannah kinda makes me want to put up a public bulletin board in my yard that's like "post your drawings here"
@hannah reverse stealing art pieces

@hannah

Every time I see the "1 weird trick" thing, I am always expecting it to be followed by something like "That X doesn't want you to know" or "is making Y furious"

@hannah
@arclight

One weird trick, loco woman swears by.

@hannah I read the placard and couldn't help but think the description sounds a lot like how foxes provision morsels of food.

I'm willing to bet it was a fox that hid those art pieces, saving them for later, hehe~

@hannah I think this is the post I have most enjoyed reading, this month. Thank you.
