Photo of the Day 11th June 2026.

TF-ICC, Boeing 737-9 Max, IcelandAir, on it’s take off roll on Runway 05 Left at Manchester Airport, 4th May 2026, As seen from the Runway Visitor Park. One of O’Leary’s Taxis is photobombing in the background as it taxies in after landing on Runway 05 Right. This was the 3rd frame (and the first useable) taken with my new camera and lens combo.

‘Throw Thursday 11th June 2026.

G-STBD, Boeing 777-36NER, British Airways, climbing out of Runway 27 Left at London Heathrow, 22nd March 2019, as seen from the Esso Garage on Southern Perimeter Road. LZ-BEH, Ilyushin IL-18Gr, Balkan Bulgarian, in basic LOT Polish Airlines livery, taxiing past the terraces on top of The Queens Building at London Heathrow on it’s way to Runway 28 Right, 29th February 1992. HZ-AFT, Dassault Falcon 900, Saudi Arabian Special Flight Services, wearing the livery of Saudia, taxiing past the Queens Building at London Heathrow, 18th March 1993. 3D-AFR, Douglas DC-8-54F, African International, taxiing past the Queens Building at London Heathrow, 30th October 1994.

Another (inevitable) #BritishAirways disappointment. Buy a ticket on their website, with a BA flight number, but can’t access the lounge.

They’ve changed the rules so if you’re flying with Vueling you have to have Gold status to access the lounge. As a mere pauper with Silver status, I was turned away.

Added bonus: particularly hostile and sarcastic staff on the door. Lovely stuff. BA never fails to deliver. 💩
