I suspect that there are two typos in Craig's steps: shouldn't the commands be /rescue/fetch and rescue/tar instead of /release... ?

Naïvely, I ran freebsd-update -r 15.0-STABLE install in my regular FreeBSD desktop. That was a mistake.

If you don't write AltText on your photos, we notice that too. Please give it a try. Imagine how you'd feel if you came across picture after picture that looks like a blank screen to you. You'd be frustrated, right?

I have encountered more image descriptions on Mastodon in 24 hours than I have in Twitter in a couple of years. Seriously. I'm not exaggerating.
As a blind person, this means a lot to me. If you read this and you describe your images, thank you so, so, so much on behalf of all of us. If you don't, now you know you'll be helping random Internet strangers make sense of your posts by typing in a few more words than usual.

Question for the #FediVerse , how do I make mastodon actually fetch replies to a post? Someone boosted a post onto my timeline, but my instance doesn't have any of the replies to it. If I open it in a new window, I see a bunch of replies.

Have to do all that extra work is a PITA, and that means if I want to interact w/ any of the replies, it's THAT much more work (copy/paste urls back to my instance).

Please, if you are not a person of African descent, reconsider creating 1st-level toots using the #BlackTwitter #BlackMastodon #BlackFedi or #BlackFediverse, etc, hashtags. In this moment of flux, a lot of Black folks are trying to find each other via these hashtags. It might be more considerate to use #BlackTwitterAllies and other such hashtags to show support for Black communities without co-opting them.
