Happy to share that #BoxyBSD remains up!

Recently I got asked about my @[email protected] project, which offers free VPS instances of vary #BSD based systems for learning and educational purposes and I'm happy to share that this projects remains available. Several things could finally be clarified to continue this service to make sure people can learn and practice on real #FreeBSD, #OpenBSD, #NetBSD systems to #RUNBSD. Also, BoxyBSD starts moving over to #Sylve on #bhyve.

But not only that! We could also get some more new resources and locations to scale and this also brings up another new project for #free Linux #VPS instances at https://boxedtux.com (Fedi: @[email protected]) where people will be able to learn and practice on different #Linux based distributions (e.g., #Debian, #Ubuntu, #Rocky,...). BoxedTux utilizes #Proxmox clusters as a foundation.

Hope you like this small update... Over & out!

I'm currently working on adding some FreeBSD support to my crazytrace program.
I rely heavily on Codeberg's Woodpecker CI - unfortunately, however, this CI doesn't support FreeBSD.
But BoxyBSD was kind enough to provide me with a second VM, where a FreeBSD Woodpecker agent is now running, giving me a private FreeBSD CI for my projects.
It seems to be working very well.

FreeBSD Support?

Howdy, I'd like to have support for FreeBSD. I tried to get the woodpecker-agent to work on my FreeBSD server myself but failed. It seems to contain just too many Linux specifics. So if anyone knows how to do this, I am willing to provide hosting of a FreeBSD agent for this (ipv6 only thoug...

I finally got a @BoxyBSD VM today. The installation using the ISO went smoothly.
However, writing firewall rules in pf instead of nftables still takes some practice.
I hope I’ll be able to port and test my crazytrace program on FreeBSD.

Guys, does anyone have an invitation code for #BoxyBSD?

I see in their FAQ:

> Each user that singsup has one code to share with friends or within the community

Is someone running a #deltachat #chatrelay on #freebsd ? I am thinking to give it a try with #bastilleBSD on a #BoxyBSD instance.
