Here’s something I hadn’t considered before…

We see oil derricks and pump jacks all over the province, with hostile gravel and unfertile soil all around them… but when you see solar panels and wind turbines you see houses with lawns, gardens, pastures, and fields all around them.

I wonder why no one ever chooses to live under pump jacks?

When I was at the hospital they took my vital signs four times a day.

I quickly discovered that my blood pressure can be easily influenced by my thoughts. Even the nurses were amazed.

There was one time when I was fearfully anticipating my first wound dressing and my BP was really high, about 150 and at one point 190 lmao. The nurse was alarmed and I just simply told her that I tend to get really high bp's when I stress myself out.

She asked me to think better thoughts so I said, okay I'll think about cats and started meditating on my breathing. It plummeted down to 130.

Both of us were frankly gobsmacked. It made me realize that I should really stop catastrophizing or making myself anxious because it has a real impact on my blood pressure and nervous systems.

I'm not sure if anyone's nervous systems is as responsive or easily triggered like mine, but it has been fascinating to observe 😅
