@shram86 @goodthinking I think we both agree that what happens in the chocalate industry are abhorrent, but the claim “you can’t avoid all evil” is a loaded statement that literally implies futility. Hence the word “can’t”. And also, posting food you made on social media isn’t inherently slacktivism because you’re vegan.

The Paradox of Tolerance disappears
if you look at tolerance, not as a moral standard, but as a social contract.

If someone does not abide by terms of the contract, they're not covered by it.

In other words: since the intolerant are not following the rules of the social contract of mutual tolerance, and have broken the terms of the contract, they are no longer covered by it, and their intolerance should NOT be tolerated.

@shram86 @goodthinking do you know what the appeal to futility fallacy is?

I am 60, I am #Vegan, and I just learned how to make chocolate from scratch.

This has been kept from us. It is eye-blinkingly easy. The effort : reward ratio is beyond what you can imagine, because everything you can imagine starts and ends with chocolate.

Nestlé, Hershey, Mars you motherfuckers, now I know Kung Fu.

Edit: Adding the recipe I started with. Sorry I didn’t put it here in the first place, we learn. https://www.asaucykitchen.com/homemade-chocolate-with-cocoa-butter/#mv-create-recipe

Trials for an mRNA vaccine for pancreatic cancer have shown a 75% cure rate, when administered after diagnosis. Only 2 patients had their cancer return.

Life expectancy after diagnosis with PanCan, under conventional treatment, is less than a year.

My dad died from pancreatic cancer in 2018.

Im not going to do an explainer thread for why this is an incredibly big deal today. You can ask someone else, or read the study for yourself.

I miss my daddy.

RNA neoantigen vaccines prime long-lived CD8+ T cells in pancreatic cancer - Nature

In a phase 1 trial, patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma who were treated with surgery and bespoke neoantigen mRNA vaccines combined with anti-PD-L1 and chemotherapy exhibited marked long-lived persistence of neoantigen-specific CD8+ T cell clones, which correlated with prolonged recurrence-free survival at a 3.2-year follow-up.
