@bigzaphod @Iconfactory granted I don’t what I don’t know, but I think most cases would be covered if dots only appeared in spots that had at least 2 open neighbors. Other problem scenarios are possible but they would be so rare it wouldn’t be worth fixing.
@Iconfactory I know it doesn’t get updates, but if anyone ever decides to open up the code for Ollie’s Arcade again, I would love if the snake game wouldn’t randomly place the next pink dot where it literally can’t be continued without ending the game. I can’t ever get a screenshot, but several times a have had the pink appear surrounded by 3 white dots. It always happens when I am nearing a high score and is a real bummer
@CStamp @gedeonm I tend to just go around the board in a circle and get comfortable switching back and forth to use up length in a short block. 60 was hard, but 40 is pretty standard
@gedeonm I’ve had a score in the 50s since pretty early soon after the release, but I picked it up again and finally pushed it to 60. All three games are surprisingly addictive, especially when every round ends in a little cussing over a silly mistake.
Fun fact given Tesla’s recent approval of a trillion dollars for Elon Musk. Instead of giving the richest man in the world who already has more money than he could ever spend even more money, they could have split that same money evenly across all of their roughly 125,000 employees and given each of them a life changing $8 million a piece. Or given it back to stock holders, or just made their cars cheaper. There is absolutely no justification for giving that much money to a single person.
💯for this suggestion. The full list of things I use my phone for in landscape: video playback, lanscape photos, some games that are only in landscape. Apsolutely everything else I want locked to portrait all the time

@gedeonm I have this exact thought. It kills me to see the Photos app with an icon that looks out of focus. The icons look fine enough when they are large like in WWDC presentations, but at the sizes they are actually used, they look terrible and blurry
Possible improvements include:
- Give me the option to just turn off auto flowing apps and widgets. The entire process would be 1000% better but just requiring me to make space for something before I move amd then iPadOS just never moving anything automatically.
- let me just drop a thing on the spot I want it amd then prompt with three possible options: put in folder, insert/reflow, or swap.
- give me an option to just completely lock an item so it won’t move
I don’t wish this on people very often, but whoever is in charge of Homescreen management on iPadOS needs to be fired. Everything about it is wrong, frustrating, and unexpected. While attempted reorg my iPad, i have to restart multiple times, and I have seen all of the following many times:
- You can place apps/widgets anywhere, except when it just decides to reflow everything on the screen.
- Removing an app from one screen will somes remove it from all screens
- moving an app will sometimes duplicate the app, except removing one removes both
- sometimes, there seems to be an invisible ghost large widget so you just can’t place apps in some areas for awhile.
- You sometimes have to sneak up on a folder to move something into it so it doesn’t try to auto flow out of the way.
- minor, but the app animation gets super funky once you do too much it.
@siracusa “My interest in file systems…”, I made it exactly that far before by brain just filled in the ding sound
