Cataract surgery 7½ weeks ago. First 5-6 weeks was like seeing the world thru overdone HDR colors; I literally forgot what true colors looked like.

My wife recently told me she doesn't understand why people consciously convert photos to black and white because they don't look real. I almost always prefer black and white images and never thought about it that way. But after thinking about what she said, I (kind of) see her point.

[002-365] Had some nice weather last week, but the rain has returned. These small flower buds will probably bloom within the week.

[001-365] We live in a suburban/rural area and see a lot of wildlife in our backyard. Most often deer, squirrel, rabbit, hawk, and racoon to name a few, and every so often black bear, bald eagle, owl, and coyote. And on rare occasions we have mountain lion sightings.

The deer literally think they own the neighborhood and completely ignore you unless approached within 3-4 meters 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Cherry blossoms (桜) bloom for about a week, and their peak ends in 2-3 days 💔💔💔💔

On the bright side, there are about 100 different types of cherry trees, and they sometimes bloom at different times during the spring. So if you're lucky and live in an area with more than one type you get more than those 2-3 days of peak viewing time.
