After my excitement last night that my AR7030 is still alive.

I have taken out the faulty tuning encoder to inspect it and find the internal pcb with the printed tracks is broken in two pieces.

Now is the time to replace it.

Has anybody got a definitive spec or part number for the original ALPS mechanical encoder - PRR etc. or a part number for a modern replacement. I can fit a Bourns optical encoder, but again, I'm not sure of which part would be correct.

Inspired by @oe1lfb posting a pic of a new Codan Envoy I was reminded of my previous experiments with CCIR493 HF selcall.

I haven't done anything with it for a few years but I have some old notes on my wiki

I've connected a Jenal sc2 mic to my G90 and its monitoring 14.342MHz with selcall id 3658 if anyone fancies doing some tests. The G90 will send revertives out (@ 20 w) for direct selcall, direct beacon call and "99" beacon call

I'm up in #shetland and have been resurrecting my #amateurradio interest recently, so I thought it was an ideal time to re-connect to the world via Mastodon, too.
