@0xabad1dea I’d try a qr code generator. Although you probably couldn’t download stuff to it either.. I used a qr code generator for text terminals to transfer generated config files for wireguard from the server.
@0xabad1dea i have an angry birds vibe now…
My hope for my dead SSD is that only a voltage regulator kicked the bucket. Unfortunately there are no earthly components on these SSDs. So I have ordered another SSD of the same make, but with lower capacity, in hopes of using it as a donor for the magic what-I-believe-are-LDOs. Wish me luck. If you have suggestions I am all ears. Unless its “you should -also- create backups of those keys.” in which case I will ignore this remark.. the victim is a Crucial 1000MX500SSD1.
I decided to update servers, which included moving a 2.5” ssd in a cd caddy with a slim-sata cable attached. I modified the power plug in 2016 because the (HP) servers provide a floppy power plug, and not the big 5 1/4 inch device power plugs. I clearly remember thinking “be aware to plug into 5v in new server”. Well, I now know that a Crucial MX500 will work on 12v for about an hour.
The really bad part is that the dead SDD has a keyfile on it to unlock the storage. And somehow I did not keep a copy of that file.
@0xabad1dea no. Perhaps inside the white box. But it will hold the adapter and judging buy the # of wires to the LED assembly I suspect it can do tricks with colors. Did I mention the option of using a hammer on this device already? The good thing is that it probably has no batteries in it so if you flick the switch all is off. Or not. In which case I suggest to use a hammer, but only after disconnecting the power lines. Unless sparks are your thing - hammer away!!!! 😘
@0xabad1dea a hammer. It’s going to be oddly satisfying. You might need a new lamp.
Someone at ivanti’s merger and acquisition team must have real regrets now for buying Pulse Secure last year.
I find this a bit passive aggressive TBH.
