Oh dear a DOWM (drunk old white man) maliciously QRM'ing a net on a local 2m repeater tonight, repeatedly breaking in and going "What IS this?", grunting, moaning over other operators. I've heard this voice elsewhere on other local repeaters. 😕 Pretty sure the guy is licensed too. #HamRadio #VHF #2m #QRM
Also it's astounding, the number of bag manufacturers / retailers who don't show the inside of the bag.

Trying to find an electronics organizer or small-ish pouch to protect my G-90 + carry various accruements in my nice hiking backpack has been... a journey.

Everything is either perfect but too small (peak design, Alpak) or a bulky and uncomfortable looking Tactical Backpack for the End Times (too many to count).

The only solution to this problem is to just buy an Elekraft KX-2/3. (Kidding)

(but not kidding)

Very excellent demonstration tonight of how topography affects VHF propagation: I can clearly hear a repeater 45 miles away across a broad valley on a plateau at equal / higher elevation but I can barely hear a repeater 30 miles away but with, basically, a small mountain range between.

Very much wanting to assemble one of K6ARK's 20w EFHW kits, but given that they're out of stock, what's folks experience with the suspiciously cheap pre-built QRP-guys / Teyleten EFHW transformers that are all over Amazon / eBay in the interests of me just getting an EFHW up and running?

The 404 message from wsprnet.org should be a GIF of George Michael.

Kernel panic on the streets of London. Kernel panic on the streets of Birmingham...

I love Linux Mint but seriously why does it have so much trouble running on my 10 year old iMac. Reinstalled OSX Mountain Lion---> Catalina and while it's a lot less snappy it's at least stable.

Wow, picking up stations from Dublin, Ireland, on 40m ssb tonight, though!
Wow OK 7.2 Mhz is living up to its (horrible) reputation right now.
