A new COO is appointed, no experience to note in higher education but he used to work at Macquarie Bank and has expertise in mergers and acquisitions which should be handy... #higherED

@timinclimate @phannam We recently saw the back of former Deputy CEO, Paul Wellings from UOW. Fun fact, he was responsible for the Howard Governments science policy that led to the changes of CSIRO and Higher Ed research being linked to business outcomes as opposed to knowledge outcomes. Police had to attend his formal farewell dinner to protect the guests from protesters which I think speaks for the esteem in which he was held.
