Loving that corporate life: let's move R&D to Slack. Let's move all the company to MS Teams. Let's move video calling to Zoom and chat stays on Teams. Video moves to Teams. R&D chat moves to Slack, video stays on Teams. Oh, but you need to chat with someone from other dept, then use Teams, of course. ๐Ÿ˜ก

Modern work:

you get a message in Slack with a link to the Confluence doc to prep for the meeting on Zoom, where you take notes in Notion, and track project progress on Monday and then update the Trello and you get to the end of the week and instead of doing fucking anything you've just moved bits of information around in 17 different databases and each one costs $15 a month per user...

There used to be a time when Spotify gave me actually good music recommendations on Release Radar and Discover Weekly. Unfortunately those days seem to be long gone.

I'm trying to understand how -- and if -- productivity tools for coders are affecting jobs in the tech industry.

If you're a manager or a coder who feels like the productivity that comes from using ChatGPT or a within-IDE tool is affecting hiring in your company (even of contractors), or the demands being placed on you, I would love to hear from you!!

People who don't use git cherry-pick make me scratch my head. Instead of 1 command they switch to the branch they want to get the change from, copy the file, switch back to their branch, paste the file, then git add and commit. ๐Ÿ˜•
