LB I am once again promoting https://freesewing.org for size inclusive (like actually, they're based on measurements so they CAN generate a pattern in your size) free sewing patterns!
Nothing fancy but it's got the basics and you can combine pieces all you want and come up with a bunch of cute garments
Free Bespoke Sewing Patterns | FreeSewing

FreeSewing is open source software to generate bespoke sewing patterns, loved by home sewers and fashion entrepreneurs alike.

Today has been a busy day for @freesewing

1) we released Freesewing v4, the next major version
2) we have migrated all our infrastructure out of the US (and into the EU)
3) we have launched our very own (and old school) forum for the benefit of our community

For more info and the _why_ behind the _what_, our newsletter edition from today has all the info: https://freesewing.eu/newsletter/2025q2

Thanks to all contributors who helped make this possible πŸ™πŸ’œ

2025 Spring edition | FreeSewing

Welcome to the 2025 Spring edition of the FreeSewing newsletter.

Today I received a phishing email pretending to be from EuroDNS, the domain registrar for @freesewing

The From: address is not what you'd expect, and the link doesn't go where it pretends to go either.

But those are not even visible on nobile UI. What made me immediately suspicious is the threat to delete if no payment is made within 5 days.

Because that's not how this works. When a domain expires, it is placed in quarantine, from where you can get it back for a fee.

Be careful out there.

Shout-out to @artcollisions and @bammerlaan for both pitching @freesewing much appreciated 😊

Seems like @emily is looking for a place to dump a PDF or something. That's not what FreeSewing does (my life would be so much easier if it was πŸ˜‚ ) .

Emily, if your partner ever wants to get into parametric design, refer them to our contributor docs: https://freesewing.dev/

FreeSewing is an open source Javascript library for parametric sewing patterns

Here is @woutervw posing in a sweater he knitted.

Yes, that is skully, the beloved @freesewing logo, worked into the knitting.

I have no words 🀯 πŸ’œ

FreeSewing builds in the open, so we keep a preview of our work on the upcoming v4 release available at: https://v4.freesewing.org/

It's very rough around some edges and broken in other places. Things like mobile view and dark mode are still a bit neglected for now.

Still, if you'd like to get involved, you can check out our v4 branch and fix every problem you come across 😊

Hi

FreeSewing.org
I have found @freesewing from @joost and I think I’m in love!
In the wake of the backdoor attempt on XZ Utils, #FreeSewing has taken steps to guard against supply chain attacks in our open source software:

This popped up in an unrelated websearch, but I'm glad it did. Open source parametrically modeled fashion is a great concept.

We poked around a bit: one-off assembly of pants in China (cutting, sewing) is about 350RMB ($50). Pattern should be .plt or .dxf for the cutting machine..
