I make electronics go beep boop and tools go spinny. Also, I pet cats sometimes.

Follow requests require approval because bots and asshats; if you have literally anything to convince me you're neither of those things I will probably accept.

I understand nuance and will not be mad if you respectfully disagree with me on something. (I hate that the state of the internet is such that this isn't a default assumption.)

actually I don't need to use USB for this, I have a spare laptop with a broken screen and a NVMe port. I can just use the much cheaper cursed NVMe to PCIe adapter
is this how they get music into the internet

what search term do I want for a thing that plugs into a computer's thunderbolt/sufficiently-future-USB port and gives you an external PCIe slot

this seems like it can theoretically exist, since there are USB-to-M.2-NVMe enclosures, and M.2-NVMe is just weird shaped PCIe, but can I do it with only one weird cursed adapter instead of two?

When it was time for me to be paid, I would send a picture of a watch to the payment chat, and Philippe would say “send that watch to London.” Then he would say “the buyer is happy.”

On March 16, 2025, I smashed my old phone with an axe and put it down the drain at my mother-in-law’s house, as Deel’s lawyer Asif had advised.

just normal opsec things~

past emily hasn't gotten me that good since the time I fucked up a cloud-to-butt replace rule and spent a comically long time convinced that "cloudon" was suddenly a cringey new slang term for clickable icons

it has been 0 days since past emily pulled a ridiculous computer prank on me

f12 hasn't been opening the browser dev tools lately and I've had to use ctrl-shift-I instead. finally got annoyed enough to investigate today. first thing I tried was making sure it was actually sending a key event. it was!

the key it was sending? XF86Calculater(*)

F11 was XF86Calculator, but nothing uses F11 for anything so i had not noticed. this was part of my experiment to see if they were actually different

today's fun cursed keyboard fact: xkb (the thing both X11 and Wayland use for keyboard input) defines keys called XF86Calculator and XF86Calculater they are distinct keysyms and you can bind them to different things

the reporting will continue until corporate behavior improves or i accomplish the task that led me to be using this browser

briefly using a browser with no plugins (including ad blocker) and taking the time to report every single ad i see as "not appropriate"

nearly 7am and i'm still awake, thinking really hard about what kind of trash cans boston uses

(i had a very strong mental image of boston as a place where all buildings are made of red brick, and all trash cans are the sheet metal cylinder kind. looking at pictures of boston i have concluded that the brick thing is accurate but i have absolutely no idea whers i got the trash can association from. i should note that i have never been to boston.)
