I’m a week in to living in France. So far so bureaucratic. Somehow I have managed to sign up for a phone plan, a bank account (pending approval), and a year long lease on a furnished apartment (pending signatures). But Vélib’… velib escapes me.

My wife made halloumi from Miyoko Schinner’s Vegan Creamery cookbook and it is amazing. So cheesy, great texture. (Forgive the presentation and poor photo, we don’t have a grill pan so no beautiful lines.) Underneath it is an einkorn bread I just baked!

Ominous news in the coffee shop line

A special treat for breakfast: jam and cream cheese filled sour cream bread. It’s basically a long danish. Homemade jam, homemade sour cream, tofutti cream cheese.
