a drawing of lovely Bailey I finished late last year 🐾

I have very limited spaces available for companion animal illustration commissions this year. I can do very classic ones such as this or more elaborate pieces featuring botanical frames and other symbolism/ornamentation. I am open for enquiries (details below)

I’m back in San Francisco for a few days and good lord I missed it here. Didn’t even realize until I got a beer and fries at Rosamunde. Seeing the mission go by is really special. (Also my wife is here, that helps.)

Successfully made a bread! To be sure, some would argue that baking your own bread in France is like bringing coals to Newcastle. And this is true. But what if the commute is really pleasant?

I’ve been having some trouble keeping up with mastodon as I acclimate to a new job in a new city, but I’m still enjoying it here. If anyone has questions about my process of moving from the US to France, 1.5 months in, send them my way.
A good day in Paris
Moving to another country really feels new New Game+ on life. I don't have any of my cool inventory items, there's added difficulty, but at least I have my meta knowledge. (This thought inspired by all the recipes I have saved for which I now lack the equipment.)

Which protective glasses do you use for watching (partial) solar eclipses?

As a kid I just used charred pieces of glass. Yeah, someone asked me what I was doing with a lit candle outside during the day. I resisted replying "Looking for an honest man". Do not do that! I'm lucky to have eyes still.

In August 1999, on a bus tour to Hungary to watch the (total) solar eclipse, we were given some kind of cardboard "eclipse glasses" with a dark foil "lenses" to use before and after the totality.

Afterwards I read that it needs to be at least DIN 14 welding filter and that those probably weren't protecting our eyes.

So which welding glasses should I buy? The eclipse is in August, but I expect shortage, so I want to get them soon.
