Caspar von Schrenck-Notzing was an independently wealthy far-right publicist, financier and networker, best known as founder and editor of Germany’s formerly most eminent New Right magazine Criticón (1970–2007). A close affiliate of the Swiss far-right ideologue Armin Mohler (1920–2003), a disciple of Carl Schmitt and self-confessed fascist, he tried to broadly reintroduce the interwar concept of a Conservative Revolution—a current that already his grandfather, the parapsychologist fraudster Albert von Schrenck-Notzing (1862–1929), had embraced.
