Jean-Eudes #Gannat, a French Catholic #Identitarian figurehead, is among the nastiest AC combatants. He has created several militant #neofascist groups affiliated with the #GUD (Rassemblement des étudiants de droite, L’#Alvarium, #Chouan Movement). https://www.foiaresearch.net/person/jean-eudes-gannat

Jean-Eudes Gannat (born September 30, 1994) is a French neofascist and Catholic identitarian figurehead, who is counted among the third generation of the Groupe Union Défense (GUD), the largest violent neofascist organization in postwar France.

In December, a bit over a month after the publication of our Academia Christiana exposé, the French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin has announced that he will request the dissolution of the organization. #AcademiaChristiana #France #FarRight #FSSP https://www.lemonde.fr/societe/article/2023/12/10/gerald-darmanin-va-demander-la-dissolution-de-l-association-academia-christiana_6205059_3224.html

We added a new entry for project KMMANLY (1951–53) - a multi-pronged #CIA effort that was “originally designed to counter the actions of pacifist and neutralist groups in West #Germany” which were opposed to Germany’s re-armament. To that end, KMMANLY supported several military organizations and publications, such as the Gesellschaft für Wehrkunde and its journal Wehrkunde. The various sub-projects of KMMANLY included a long list of former Wehrmacht and SS leaders. https://www.foiaresearch.net/project/kmmanly

Academia Christiana's clerics hail largely from the Institut du Bon Pasteur and the Faternité Sacerdotale Saint-Pierre. @lahorde had previously reported on AC, particularly its militaristic priest Matthieu Raffray, known for being a weapons enthusiast. https://lahorde.samizdat.net/bagarrebagarrepriere-l-abbe-Raffray-la-bible-et-le-fusil

We posted a new article on the French Academia Christiana, a Catholic #Identitarian association founded in 2013, which brings together Catholic fundamentalist and neo-Nazi constituents. Founded and directed by Victor Aubert, AC is guided by a group of clerics who hail predominantly from the Institut du Bon Pasteur and the Faternité Sacerdotale Saint-Pierre. Several priests identified celebrate the Latin Mass, embraced by the far-right fringe of the Catholic church. https://www.foiaresearch.net/organization/academia-christiana

We added a long profile of Caspar von Schrenck-Notzing (1927–2009), an éminence grise of the German New Right, who has received little attention until now. The independently wealthy publicist, financier and networker was best known as founder and editor of Germany’s formerly most eminent New Right magazine #Criticón. A close affiliate of the Swiss far-right ideologue Armin #Mohler, Schrenck-Notzing tried to reintroduce the interwar concept of a Conservative Revolution. https://www.foiaresearch.net/person/caspar-von-schrenck-notzing

Caspar von Schrenck-Notzing was an independently wealthy far-right publicist, financier and networker, best known as founder and editor of Germany’s formerly most eminent New Right magazine Criticón (1970–2007). A close affiliate of the Swiss far-right ideologue Armin Mohler (1920–2003), a disciple of Carl Schmitt and self-confessed fascist, he tried to broadly reintroduce the interwar concept of a Conservative Revolution—a current that already his grandfather, the parapsychologist fraudster Albert von Schrenck-Notzing (1862–1929), had embraced.

Another article focuses on the Working Group on Conservatism in Europe (#WoCE), whose first traces go back to early 2023. It gathers a select group of far-right operatives who are largely affiliated with #ECR.
Occasional traces of WoCE meetings can be found on the web, however, they seem to be rather secretive and invite-only, with around 20 participants each time. One of WoCE's goals is to draft a "conservative" manifesto ahead of the upcoming 2024 European elections. https://www.foiaresearch.net/organization/working-group-conservatism-europe

The Working Group on Conservatism in Europe (WoCE), whose first traces go back to early 2023, brings together a select group of far-right political operatives who are largely affiliated with the Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group and party in the European Parliament.

The first article deals with the far-right journal The European Conservative (TEC), which has been co-hosting events together with #ECR's think tank New Direction. TEC also serves as a mouthpiece for ECR's political line - i.a. the effort to consolidate the faction of the European far right which is staunchly pro-NATO and anti-Russian. TEC also takes part in the invite-only Working Group on Conservatism in Europe, which mainly includes ECR-affiliated party think tanks. https://www.foiaresearch.net/organization/european-conservative
The European Conservative | FOIA Research

The European Conservative (TEC) is a far-right journal that has its roots in a newsletter published by the Center for European Renewal (CER), an organization founded in 2007 in the Netherlands by key players from the extreme Right from across Europe and the United States. From 2008 onwards, TEC appeared as a PDF newsletter, later also in print form, and since 2021 in a revamped edition published in Hungary.

We are currently working on a series of articles focusing on the orbit of the European Conservatives and Reformists (#ECR) group and party in the European parliament. ECR has drifted further and further to the Right; particularly ever since the UK's Conservative Party ceased to be a dominating force after #Brexit. By now, ECR consists mostly of far-right member parties with the Spanish #Vox and Fratelli d'Italia (#FdI) taking a leading role.
