It’s the first week of our Spring 1 batch, and we welcomed 25 new Recursers and 4 alums!

“I’m ready for this experience to transform me in ways that I never expected.” @flupple blogged about his hopes and plans for RC, and we’re excited to see what he and his batchmates do!

@itamarst Great post, I didn't know float32 could be so limiting!

@briandorsey @simon Wow there's a lot to study here! Also new to #rust and using #adventofcode as a means to learn it.

I eventually found iter.next_chunk() to pull 3 lines at a time, and which requires the nightly build, so I can feel like a real hacker 🤓

@b0rk I saw this and immediately thought of @hynek 's recent blog post: https://hynek.me/articles/productive-fruit-fly-programmer/. Great plug for Dash & Zeal, and some background on docsets. I think there is a lot of untapped potential here.
How I’m a Productive Programmer With a Memory of a Fruit Fly

A love letter to tools that changed everything for me.

@simon this is excellent, thank you -- I've been looking for this ever since you posted the slides several weeks ago.

I also find myself suffering from project overload, and I've already started implementing some of your suggestions, such as using github issues to track progress. It's these kinds of practices that make me so inspired to be a programmer.

@vicki This was excellent, I read the entire thing and many of the links contained within! Very inspiring to see your learning process, it gives me confidence in my own programming journey & career transition 🤓

Today's #project: our toddler keeps turning the washer & dryer off in the middle of the cycle. I can't blame her, who doesn't want to press the flashy button?

I #3dprinted a cover and "the key to my heart", which I proudly passed on to my wife 💜 🤓

The small ones that are done in less than a day are satisfying, especially when making progress on the big projects is so slow.

@simon Thank you for this, I've been quite inspired by what you write. I'm perpetually late to the party, and being exactly 20 years too late is a good place to start 🤓
