As an Artist, I work primarily with lens-based media, photogrammetry, and machine learning. I'm also teaching & research at HfG-Offenbach (Hessen State University of Art & Design, Germany). For 2026: „My world is no longer yours (thanks to machine learning)“.

Are there any people here from the worlds of #science and #art who, like me, work with #machinelearning ? I am currently looking for an exchange in a cultural, philosophical, and technological context. I come from a background in #photography and also teach in a university context. I would be very grateful for any tips, platforms, Magazine, etc.

For me, as an #artist who currently works independently with #ai creating, training, and modifying my own datasets and models, it's not easy. That's because most people, even in #research and my environment, often associate AI/ #machinelearning with the big tech companies, but don't understand the #technology itself. And many self-proclaimed specialists talk about something they clearly don't understand. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way? I would be really interested to know.

So here I am, and my first step away from the „usual“ social media platforms: on the Image: I am, Florian Albrecht-Schoeck, next to a test print measuring 150 cm x 200 cm. I currently use only #opensource software and, above all, my own data sets and specially trained #AiModels . As an #artist I build digital structures and tools that I control.
