Thanks for sharing this. This is where the UK aproach to putting a company under "administration" instead just hands-off at bankruptcy time makes a lot more sense than what I remember seeing in America when I lived there, it's very sad that any critical organization like this has ceased to function so abruptly.

@mimsical I use wired headphones (IEMs) and listen to high fidelity audio (96-192khz).

Now that I'm used to how good it sounds I don't use streaming apps. The quality from the physical wire is very refreshing, I also have a music player that is text only, so I can type the name of the song and it plays, no user interface.

It is still digital, but I find it calming and grounding.

@phocks really? They have no filter for comments like this, wow. Not that I mind, when I have those thoughts, this kind of thing would make me feel less alone... lol.

sounds dramatic... what temperature was it in your hatchback (you've avoided both uk and us lingo by having a hatchback)... and chose the unit you respond with _very carefully_ :)

Meteic is wholy dependent on water though, what if I want a non-biased opinion that doesn't alienate the other elements, my olive oil bottle is very offended that so much of the world centers around _exactly_ when it freezes and boils, me and colavita agree, its totally not fair.

This made me laugh quite hard, well written.

It would be twice as much if people could stop arguing about who counts and who doesn't

It is sad that the utility of niche information is often eclisped by marketing material, I was hoping that 30 years later the internet could be more like a infinite library, but at times, it seams like only an eco-chamber for advertisers.

Phoning home is important, but Phoning the host (which _could_ also be restricted) would be necessary, otherwise, the host could Phone home.

The exploits would also have to be linux and win32 (likely individually written) so it would be a more sophisticated situation, but putting a docker image as a safe box in a live workstation seams a bit error prone.

Most massive successes are bumpy rides or sleepers, Harry Potter sat on shelves at first, and the development of the movie Rocky was turned down, a reported 1500 times, or the Avicci set at Ultra, are my favorite examples.

The beauty of the internet has been that everything seams possible, but the shame of it is how narrow the timespan of evaluating those successes have become.

I think the honest verdict for mastodon is "We won't know for a _while_".

The begining of this artcle is fantastic, about how successful people push past obstacles through extreme sacririce.

But the susceptabulity to minipulation is not well connected, that sounds like a leap.

It's also possible they are just amplified versions of people whose every day faults are just as bad but have less noticable or lasting consequences.
