Wrote a review of A Silver Mt. Zion's second album. It's in my top 10 post-rock records of all time...dark, apocalyptic, but there are occasional moments of hope, and it's quite beautiful.

@dnanian that's my favourite type of supergroup to discover, as you then have a whole family tree of new groups to work backwards through.

Alison's Halo - Eyedazzler (1992-1996)

Dubbed "Beautiful Noise” music (aw, c'mon folks, it's mostly shoegaze), these folks didn't last long, despite clear talent.

This collects basically all their output on two LPs. Lots of good stuff beyond the one track that was on Still in a Dream.

(Allmusic compares the vocalist Catherine Cooper to Liz Fraser, and I think they couldn't be more wrong…)

Released in March, 1991.
One of the #postrock paradigm shifts.

@bastardsheep I think the long, dismal conga-line of appalling sequels/prequels of classic movies has produced this exact behaviour. It's some kind of a defence mechanism where the more promising the trailer the lower the expectations it produces.
