Here are the lighthouses of Europe.
The map is even better than it might seem at first glance: the colors are the real colors, the patterns are the real patterns, and the size of the dots is the distance at which each light is visible.
Made with @openstreetmap, Leaflet, and the Overpass API.

FemQuant is now on Mastodon so it is time for a short #Introduction! We are a network bringing together #SocialScience #researchers who explore the combination of #FeministResearch and #QuantitativeResearch methods.
We run a monthly seminar series #FemQuantSeminar, (bi-)annual events/conferences, a blog and lots of other activities.
Check out our website (https://femquant.wordpress.com) and YouTube archive (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXuvJ4oKg3cqkQThoosO7kQ) for more info!
This is fascinating! The Braille Institute has developed a font - free to download - that's designed to be clearer for readers with lower vision.
An example of one of the aspects of low legibility that they tackled attached.
It's named Atkinson Hyperlegible. Atkinson was the Institute's founder - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._Robert_Atkinson
Here's where you can read about the font and download it: https://brailleinstitute.org/freefont
