@AlexanderKingsbury hey, like I said at the very it's my opinion. I think if you want food that fills you up, with no nutritional value whatsoever, that's up to you.
I never said there was anything wrong with people doing what they enjoyed.
What I said was it's the reason we're all sick, and it was caused by consumerism.
Consumerism is caused by capitalism.
Humanity became so board, all they do is fill their houses and bodies with convenience.

@QasimRashid Especially after years of politicians not doing anything they say, to actually help their citizens.
You'd think Mamdami is from another country. 😉

On a side note, even Israel has universal health care, you'd think that the rest of the US wouldn't follow in Mamdami's footsteps.

Zohran Mamdani had +38 approval upon his election. In under 2 months he’s:
•Secured universal childcare
•Paid New Yorkers $30/hour & survived a blizzard without disruption
•Remained wholly honest about the massive budget crisis NYC faces
•Demanded Hochul tax billionaires instead of working people
•Got Trump to commit $12B to NYC for affordable housing, and
•Did it ALL without corporate money

His approval is now +48.

Almost like working people love public servants who fight for working people.🤯

@bbcnewsfeed Absolutely appalling. The moral standards in the United States have dropped beyond recognition. Some already knew that the mistreatment of human beings there was horrendous, and either it is getting worse, or more people are finally speaking up.
Either way, nothing is being done. Neither the US government nor the International Criminal Court is addressing the behaviour of the US government at any level.
Night at the opera - 1st time edition.

I wanted to start my winter holiday with something different and I've never seen opera before. I went to see Ovllá, first north-Sámi opera. I didn't know what to expect, but I'm pretty sure this is something a bit more unusual in the scene of opera. The singing was mostly joik, the traditional singing of Sámi , and there wasn't many actually opera singers (if I understood correctly as a newbie).

Here is a little synopsis about the show:

"Ovllá tells the story of a boy who, as a child, is sent to a Finnish boarding school – a place where he gradually learns to feel shame for his Sámi roots. The personal joik inherited from his mother fades, and his identity begins to dissolve. He grows into a victim of assimilation policy, trying to forget something essential: who is he?"

@AlexanderKingsbury I understand your point. However, I would rather eat a farm raised chicken from my yard, with grains from my own crops, with bread from my own grains, and vegetables from heirloom seeds, and live a longer life without the consumerism ideology that stock piling your shelves with chemical filled bits and bobs they call food, as something "normal".
It's not normal and it's why people are sick.
@AlexanderKingsbury yes. However, there is a difference between taking your wheat to the mill and grinding it for making bread. It is after the grinding it and sending it to the factory. An example of this is sending it to a bread making company. You send it to the bread making company and they add, not only preservatives, but "taste enhancement" chemicals to it. Along with additives, food colouring, and other chemicals. They are not necessary to our bodies.
