I've worked in kidlit and in the news media, I've started and run a YA science magazine, launched multiple beer brands, and played harmonica for a series of short-lived blues bands. I'm currently working on a short story collection and a series of new picture books. Art AIs are my sworn enemies. Open for illustration / design commissions after December '22.

An alternate book cover / poster for a new books marketplace at stck.me. Re-reading '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' for the first time since my childhood was a revelatory experience. I'd forgotten how much of a rebel and a badass Captain Nemo is. I wanted to lean into that and take the character's transgressiveness one step further, in my #illustration, by making her a woman. The languages of linking — SOUP

India has no single uniting language and, for decades, political forces have proposed filling this gap with Hindi. But what would we stand to lose if we gained a 'link' language? Rega Jha examines how Indians traverse linguistic chasms in borrowed words, token gestures, and mixed vocabularies and ch

And please notice: it doesn't have a side A and a side B, but a side [white flower] and a side [yellow flower]. So endearingly twee.

Now spinning.

And this is my #cat. His name is Monkey. He's very silly, very charming, and terribly inappropriate at the best of times. What you see here is most of what he does in life. Such a useless fellow.
