Yes, touching grass is great and all, but have you tried pounding sand?
There was this one fanfic I read that played in the future and where git was an arcane piece of powerful magic to be wielded. It had a really good vibe, because it made me appreciate the technology we have right now in a very special way
You are literally reading my words on a device of magic right now
I've come to dislike most fantasy stories with magic because we have so much magic in the world already, and nobody is seeing and appreciating that? And fantasy magic stories at this point feel like a distraction, "oh I wish we had all this cool magic in the world but alas we don't" OPEN YOUR EYES
Don't get me wrong, I like making and eating tasty food, it's just, when I'm having fun cooking that's all that matters as long as the end result is somewhat edible. And I certainly do have a collection of failed experiments I made, but at least I had fun making them
It's kinda remarkable how I've mostly stopped asking "what do I want to eat?" and instead always ask "what do I want to cook?". The food will be edible either way, that doesn't matter, what instead matters to me is that the cooking is fun

instant changes, no rebuilds, and you can still get pinning for dependencies

You don't have to use Nix to manage your dotfiles

computers i guess

Every evening I take the "You'll make it to tomorrow" sign off my bedroom wall, and put it in my time machine.

Every morning, I get into my time machine, go to yesterday before I woke, and hang the sign up.

It's nice to have something to be certain of, these days.

I think it would be Interesting to read an article of someone's experience going from owning Big Tech Flagship devices to a full set of ifixit 10/10 repairable devices (framework laptop, fairphone, etc)

every review is like ‘oh it's repairable and that's awesome’ and then you never see them actually living on these devices and talking about the subtle compromises. in many cases the very next article or video about an unrelated topic you see them back to an iphone, pixel, or samsung flagship
