FREDERICTON - Today officials with the New Brunswick Government notified the parents of Blaine Higgs, which they are required to do according to Policy 713, to inform them that Higgs name is being officially changed to “ex-premier Blaine Higgs”.
Chris Alemany🇺🇦🇨🇦🇪🇸I watched two news reports from BC newscasts yesterday where they mentioned the ongoing process of the #BCElxn2024. BOTH stations gave the impression that the new electronic ballot counters somehow failed to deliver a quick result. In fact I have yet to hear a report that did not mention that as a problem, if not *the* problem.
THIS IS WRONG
The delay has absolutely nothing to do with the ballot counters. NOTHING
If we had the same process as before, hand counting the ballots, we would be in EXACTLY the same position. Just as we were in 2017!
The fact is, not all ballots are counted on election night, regardless of the system used to count them because not all ballots are cast in the same place. It has always been that way. So if the results are very close, we wait a week for all the ballots to come in from everywhere they are cast all over the province!
That's it. That's all they have to say!

@dl2jml @raven667 @kevingranade For what it's worth my Canadian dishwasher is hooked to hot water and uses 400-600 wH for a 2h31m cycle. Add on whatever energy is used to heat 15 litres to the temperature that constitutes "hot, but safe" water here, which is done by a gigantic gas boiler in my apartment building's basement.
@TechConnectify Dang man. Sorry to hear that. For what it's worth I appreciated being able to have conversations with you and I hope I didn't come off as a pain in the ass or anything!

@48kRAM I tried valiantly to convince my parents to buy one of these for our car instead of using the Discman with the tape adapter, but alas, I was not successful. Eventually ended up with a CD player that could read MP3s, which worked very well, but it did not have a rad visualizer.
