Not mentioned: The former type of YouTubers often like to throw metrics like "Only x% of viewers are subscribed to my channel" my way, which to me feels very much like a them-problem and a horribly corporate-esque way to go about it.

Also: That hour is not a *maximum* length, mind you. If it goes on for an hour and a half or longer: Even better.

@Bright5park One of my annoyances is that even good channels often clickbait their titles to appeal YouTube's recommendation algorithm, which tends to be unsearchable—often completely failing to even name the topic in text. It prioritises the subscriber/recommendation click-through over info discoverability.

Veritasium had a good video on his philosophy of the clickable/informative tradeoff, but even he's gone off the deep end. (Given other criticisms I've had too, I've stopped watching him.)
