A form of resilience we don't talk enough about: Building systems such that people want to stay at your company.

That means:
- Managing burnout before it becomes *burnout*
- Developing meaningful goals as part of their career growth
- Continually assessing compensation
- Understanding that efficiency is brittle. Not every day/week/month is going to be another personal best in productivity

If all you did this year was survive, that is enough. I'm so glad you're still here with us.

Humans are complicated.
Reminder for leaders that your teams are probably very stressed out about all the tech layoffs. You should acknowledge this (it's ok to be stressed), give them whatever ACCURATE reassurance you can give them (but do NOT make promises you can't keep), and help them understand what they can do (NOT fix the economy, NOT worry about layoffs, but instead focus on being excellent in their area).
Deeply grateful I didn't take a job at a bird company where I was asked to work the weekend at the last minute to prove I shouldn't lose my job.
